What we receive, what we don't, how we handle your data during an engagement, and how to reach us about it.

The short version
This website (tenriverssystems.com) is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and does not build a profile of you. The only personal information we hold from the website is what you choose to send us when you email us. Separately, when you hire us, we handle your business data under the terms of your engagement; that section is below.
Who we are
Ten Rivers Systems LLC is a consulting company registered in North Carolina, United States. For anything in this policy, contact us at inquiries@tenriverssystems.com.
Information we receive
- When you email us. If you write to inquiries@tenriverssystems.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever is in your message. Our mailbox is hosted on Microsoft 365.
- When you visit. The site itself collects nothing. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) automatically processes basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and guard against abuse. We do not use this to identify or track you.
- Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google and Google may receive your IP address and the referring page. We do not send Google anything else.
Client data during an engagement
When you hire us, doing the work often means we are given access to your systems (your accounting file, your store, your bill-pay or tax tools) and to the data inside them. We treat that access as confidential and use it only to carry out the work you have asked for. We take the least access we need, keep any working copies secure, and return or delete them when the engagement ends, except where we are required to keep records. The specifics for your project, including who else may need access, are set out in your engagement letter, which governs if anything here conflicts with it.
How we use it
We use what you send us only to read and reply to your message, to provide any work you ask us to do, and to keep ordinary business records. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers below, as needed to perform your engagement, or where the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
We set no cookies and use no analytics, pixels, or advertising trackers. There is nothing to opt out of.
Service providers
- Cloudflare: website hosting and delivery.
- Microsoft 365: our email.
- Google Fonts: fonts, as noted above.
- The tools your project runs on. An engagement usually involves the platforms you already use (for example QuickBooks, Shopify, NetSuite, Avalara, or Bill.com); how each of those handles your data is governed by its own policy.
How long we keep it
We keep emails and related correspondence for as long as needed to help you and to meet legal or accounting obligations, then delete them. Ask us any time and we will remove correspondence we are not required to keep.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email inquiries@tenriverssystems.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
